I am the principal of an elementary school, a pedagogue by profession, a historian by interest, a musician by, well, I’m not entirely sure what, but above all, a curious person.
In collaboration with the Knjižnica i čitaonica “Fran Galović” in Koprivnica, I host the podcast Premalo čitam (“I Don’t Read Enough”), which is at once both an acknowledgment and a kind of remedial exam attempt for me. I try to ask smart questions, or at least not overly long ones, and for four seasons now I have been conversing with guests, asking and listening about all sorts of things: mental health, change, the environment and how to preserve it, and always about reading—and why it sometimes comes so hard for us.
In the band Overflow, I have been composing, writing, and playing music for decades, and in some parallel worlds I also initiate projects such as Walking Koprivnica, where through walking, video, and photography I reflect on and try to understand the changes around me.
And in my free time, I walk. I walk, and then I walk some more. And I naively hope that this might at least slightly slow down a world that is constantly speeding up.
