Inga Devčić

Požega City Library

Inga Devčić was born on July 5, 1994, in Slavonski Brod. Throughout her childhood and education, she showed great interest in photography, she was a creative child and loved to spend time in nature and travelling (as she does today). She attended the ‘Matija Mesić’ Grammar school in Slavonski Brod, and after that she enrolled in the interdisciplinary university study of Cultural Studies, majoring in librarianship. After a successful study and defended diploma thesis in 2018, she became a master of cultural studies, majoring in librarianship.

She made her first steps in her profession, librarianship, in a high school library. Working with young people and using modern methods, she realized that her job as a modern librarian allows her to develop all her interests, creativity and expand her existing knowledge. Since 2020, she has been employed at the Požega City Library and works as an informant at the Science and Study Department. In addition to professional work with users and work in the Department, Inga is also involved in planning and implementing programs in the library, as well as promoting programs and activities. Creating content for social networks is a creative part of the job and includes creating photos and videos. Also, Inga runs her own programs in the library – education for students on information literacy and the Youth Club “Fotkam” (I’m photographing). She is happy to share her knowledge with young people, and teach the Club members about photography, photo processing, as well as videos and their processing. She manages very well in the digital environment, learns quickly, and enjoys exploring all the possibilities that digital tools bring us.

Inga believes that the modern librarian should be a starter of new energy in the library, a constant motivator, information specialist, and educator of users who progress in accordance with the times. She is looking forward to new challenges, knowledge and growth every day, both in business and in her private life.
